1. Who are Allanberry Rooms’ services for?
Our services are for everyone — individuals, families, schools, kindergartens, and workplaces.
We design sensory-friendly spaces that help all kinds of people, both neurodivergent and neurotypical, feel calm, focused, and comfortable.
2. I don’t have a diagnosis of autism or ADHD. Can I still use your services?
You don’t need a diagnosis to benefit from our designs. Many people find that sensory-friendly spaces help them feel better, focus more easily, and relax at home or work.
3. What is Allanberry Stories?
Allanberry Stories is our own interactive story tool that helps you explore how you experience the world through your senses. Each story lets you reflect on different situations and feelings, giving us insight into what makes you feel calm or comfortable. These insights help us design spaces that fit your sensory needs.
4. Do you provide physical interior work?
No — Allanberry Rooms is a design and consultation service.
We don’t do construction or installation ourselves, but we can recommend trusted local companies and give you aftercare guidance to help everything go smoothly.
5. Where do you operate?
We work worldwide. You can join consultations by video call from anywhere, and design services can also be done online. In-person meetings and visits are currently available in South Korea.
6. How long does the process take?
Consultations usually take about two to three weeks from start to finish — including preparation, the meeting, and your final report. Design packages take longer, depending on the space, and we’ll share a clear timeline before starting.
7. How much do your services cost?
Our prices depend on your project size and goals. You can see all prices on our website, including VAT. We offer options from online consultations to full design packages, so you can choose what fits your budget and needs.
8. Is your approach evidence-based?
Our designs are based on proven research and frameworks like Sensory Integration Theory and the Autism ASPECTSS™ Design Index. These help us focus on things like sensory balance, wellbeing, and how people interact with their environments. This means our designs are scientifically reliable, psychologically thoughtful, and truly supportive of comfort, focus, and emotional wellbeing.
9. What makes Allanberry Rooms different from a regular interior designer?
Most interior design focuses on how a space looks.
We focus on how it feels.
We look at light, sound, movement, layout, transitions, and daily routines — and how these affect your nervous system. The goal isn’t just a beautiful room, but a space that genuinely supports calm, focus, and wellbeing.
10. Do you redesign whole homes?
Not necessarily.
Sometimes one corner, one bedroom, or one transition area can make a huge difference. We often focus on small but meaningful changes that improve daily routines without requiring a full renovation.
11. Can you help with bedtime struggles or difficult transitions?
Yes.
Transitions, like school to home, play to homework, or day to night — can be challenging when the environment doesn’t support regulation. We look at lighting, zoning, visual clarity, and sensory input to make these shifts feel smoother and more predictable.
12. What if my space is very small?
Small spaces are common, especially in Korea.
We specialise in multi-functional layouts that allow a room to shift purpose. For example, from active play to calm regulation without needing extra square footage.
13. Do you work with adults too?
Absolutely.
Many adults struggle with focus, overwhelm, or difficulty switching off — especially in work-from-home setups. Sensory-friendly design can support concentration, reduce stress, and improve sleep quality.
14. Can workplaces benefit from sensory design?
Yes, and not just for neurodivergent employees.
Lighting glare, noise, lack of privacy, and visual clutter affect everyone. We help offices create environments that improve comfort, focus, and staff wellbeing overall.
15. Will my child feel involved in the process?
Yes. Through Allanberry Stories, children can express their sensory preferences in a playful, accessible way. This helps them feel heard — and gives us meaningful insight for design.
16. Do you only work with children?
No. We work with families, individuals, schools, and workplaces. Sensory comfort isn’t age-specific — it’s human.
17. What if I’m not sure what the problem is — I just know something feels “off”?
That’s completely okay. Many clients don’t come with a clear label — just a sense that something in the environment isn’t working. Our process helps gently uncover what might be contributing to overwhelm, restlessness, or fatigue.
18. Is this therapy?
No. Allanberry Rooms is a design studio, not a therapy service. However, our work is informed by psychology and environmental research, and many people find that supportive spaces positively impact emotional wellbeing.
19. How personalised is the design?
We don’t use templates. Every space is shaped around the individual or group using it — their routines, sensitivities, strengths, and daily patterns.
20. What results can I realistically expect?
While every project is different, many clients report:
• smoother transitions
• easier bedtimes
• improved focus
• reduced overwhelm
• calmer daily routines
Sometimes the shift isn’t dramatic — but subtle and steady. And often, that’s what creates lasting change.
